Cambodia is one of the greatest
places on earth. I have gotten to spend a month here in Kampong Cham teaching
English at a Christian run english education center. It has been an awesome time
serving in a somewhat different ministry capacity from what we have done in
other parts of the world. Here in a place deeply rooted in Buddhism and Islam
it takes a lot of relationship building and earning of trust to really be able
to share the Gospel and hope of Jesus Christ. Teaching English is a perfect way
to help the community and build these relationships.

The center here is run by
missionaries from Vietnam, India, and the Philippines and they have had it
open for about seven months. We are the third American World Race team to spend
a month teaching here and we are really experiencing the truth of how the
kingdom harvest works. The teams before us helped set the foundation for us to
be able to start sharing the gospel with the students and we are planting seed
that will be tended by the missionaries who remain. I have been very excited
and encouraged to hear that the hard work put in by teams and the teachers here
at the center are finally starting to see fruit in the month that we have been
here. We have been able to share the story of Christ with them openly for the
first time and the response has been very good. Many students were so
interested that they asked the director of the center if she can have study
times with them to teach them more about it. So now there will be a Bible study
group, a dream of the teachers running the center, at the student’s own
request.

I am so excited about what God is
doing through the work of the center and the Ladies running it here in Kampong
Cham. I am reminded that it is really important to remember that working the
harvest does not really mean sitting down with people to say the sinner’s
prayer. Knowing Christ and having everlasting life is all about relationship.
