Here are the questions YOU all asked as well as my answers to said questions.
~Are you glad it is almost over?
Yes, I am glad it is almost over. I have definitely enjoyed the last 11 months and have learned so much in this time, but sometimes it’s good to have things come to an end. It is bittersweet, but it’s also time for the next step in life.
~What one thing will most likely have the most impact on your life?
Seeing the hardships and needs of people all over the world definitely had a huge impact on my life. It will impact on how I see political issues, how I see the homeless, how I treat people, and most importantly how I can help others in need. It has impacted me in so many ways in which I am still learning.
~How have you changed in the past months?
I have changed in my spiritual life, my attitude is better, and my outlook on life has changed. It’s seems like a small question, but there is so many answers I feel I could write down, but the best way to see how I’ve changed is to see for yourself in person!
~Would you do it again?
Honestly, I would do it again. It wasn’t necessarily anything like I had thought or what was advertised (in the adventure sense of actually trekking around the world living in a tent) but between the growth, the travel, the various ministries, the impact of people in need, and the people I had the privilege to met, I would totally do it again
~What do you most from home?
My family, driving, I did miss the Colorado mountains, the copious amounts and variety of foods at stores, working, biking, hiking, rock climbing, and the 4 seasons.
~What has the Lord shown you about yourself and about his nature?
The Lord has shown me that he is loving, persistent, caring, nurturing, meticulous, comedic, steady, pensive, and righteous. Etc…
He has shown me that I am unique, thoughtful, caring, gentle, loved/loving, joyous, and so much more. There are a lot of answers for this question.
~Whom do you hang out with most?
Zach………
~What has been the most impactful aspect of your journey?
The most impactful aspect of my journey has been the people and the relationships I’ve made. To see the difference in everyone, but see the same goal in mind. To see the impact all the people are making in the world is beyond mind-blowing. Without the people the journey wouldn’t have been so impactful.
~What people have had the most impact on you during your journey?
Our host Moses in Rwanda and our host Christi in Romania had the most impact on me.
~What had been your biggest challenge these past 10 months?
The biggest challenge for myself was and still is letting go of myself, surrendering myself. Focusing on the plank in my eye before I try to get the speck out of someone else’s eye. (Ref. Matthew 7:5) Digging deep down inside so I may become as selfless as possible. Putting God first in everything.
~What was your key?
The key I received was a verse. Roman 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then the Gentile.”
I did end up giving my key away in Bulgaria to the church we were helping with. I will hopefully be posting about that soon.
~What do you think you will miss the most from the world race?
I will miss the community within our world race community. The people I usually found myself being with at debrief, or travel day, and the people I found comfort in. A small/cell group within our church and the people I wish I could take home with me. Also the traveling!
Until next time……
