Do you ever get your expectations mixed up for God’s?
We were all ready and set for China and Mongolia. Month 4 and 5 were going to be great! We packed cold weather gear for the frigid Mongolian temperatures and we had deep expectations to see the Great Wall of China since this might be the last year it’s open to visitors. Well, two days ago the entire squad gathered around for a huge announcement that was under way.
“We’re not going to China or Mongolia.” – Squad Leaders
Those darn Squad Leaders… love them to death though.
What do you do when YOUR plans crumble and nothing seems to make sense anymore?? Well, you embrace the sadness of not getting to go to the countries that drew you to this route in the firs place and get excited for the next part of the announcement..
WE’LL BE GOING TO MALAYSIA, SRI LANKA, AND THAILAND!!!
Yes, I’m super excited about our route change. God knew this all along and He’s choosing to tell us now so we can lay aside our expectations for His. He teaches in the small things to guys..
Due to our Mongolian contacts falling through and difficulties acquiring our China visas AIM has prayed it up and felt like these three countries are where we are supposed to be. They gave us a choice, per team, about Sri Lanka or Indonesia, and God chose Sri Lanka for Team Manna. We are stoked about adding these to our route and we can’t wait to see what God does through this! We’ll be spending 3 weeks in each country.
