A very happy Valentine’s Day to each and every one of you! On this most revered of Hallmark holidays, I wanted to honor the 3 incredible women that I have been blessed to work and live alongside for the last 5 1/2 months. So here’s to you, Chelsea, Tara, and Leslie (you should probably visit their blogs and tell them how amazing they are). Enjoy a little Valentine’s Day poem I penned just for this occasion (some of the humor might be lost outside of our strange circle of inside jokes).
My 3 lovely sisters, on this Valentines,
I couldn’t be happier, that this day finds
Us all here together, as a family in Kenya,
With this trio amazing, so eager to lend ya
A listening ear, or encouraging comment,
Or a chance to pursue an unwanted rodent.
God truly blessed me when He put me on your team
Your incredible insight, and knowledge to glean
Passion for prayer and a faith that is radical
Compassion and love that can seem unfathomable
Six ears tuned in to the promptings of God
And hearts that have eagerly given Him all
As we’ve all grown together, and each day more like Christ
I would not be the same without you in my life
I’m sorry I haven’t consistently said it
But you’re BEAUTIFUL and LOVED, don’t your forget it
Just six months together, though it feels like a lifetime
Each day is a joy with these teammates of mine
I thank God for you, Chelsea, Leslie, and Tara
