So with the handful of team changes over the last few months, losing Janell and Michael and particularly with the latest addition of Matthew, we’ve been sensing a changing in our team dynamic, and a necessary re-evaluation of who are as a team on this race. The mantle of “Shabach” served us well, and God’s kingdom certainly brought down walls and came in force by the cry of our team the last 5 months. Since the beginning of this month, we’ve been coming together as a team trying to discern the new direction God is taking us, and how He will grow us as a team and individually to be more like His Son and to expand His kingdom in the remaining 5 1/2 months. In the act of opening our ears and hearts to God’s voice in regards to a new name, He effectively revealed the over-arching sentiment that we long to be known by. Our God is the living God, speaking here and now eternal words of eternal significance.

We as Christians have His words to guide us, to give us hope, to be the lamp unto our feet, our constant reassurance. Our team wanted to capture this idea of God speaking and us hearing and subsequently proclaiming those Words to a world whose ears are tuned to a far different frequency. In our searching, we came upon “RHEMA.” In short, it is a Greek word used for the word, “word.” Got it? More specifically, “that which is or has been uttered by the living voice, thing spoken, word.” Our words, our RHEMA, are not the passing utterances of this world. We have been given and we are speaking the LIVING WORDS of GOD, the RHEMA of LIFE:
You have the RHEMA of eternal life.”
(John 6:68)
“The RHEMA that I have spoken
to you are spirit and life”
(John 6:63)
…the RHEMA that CREATES:
universe was created by the RHEMA of God, so
that what is seen was not made out of things
that are visible”
(Hebrews 11:3)
…the RHEMA that UPHOLDS:
His power”
(Hebrews 1:3)
…the RHEMA that SUSTAINS:
by every RHEMA that comes from the mouth of God”
(Matthew 4:4)
…the RHEMA that is ETERNAL:
falls, but the RHEMA of the Lord remains forever.’ And this RHEMA is the good news that was preached to you.”
(1 Peter 1:25)
God’s RHEMA within us open up the door to His abundant blessings:
you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”
(John 15:7)
…and this RHEMA on our tongues is our WEAPON in the armor of God:
RHEMA of God”
(Ephesians 6:17)
We are fully equipped with the living Words of the living God. We long to be a people, a team tuned in to the frequency of the RHEMA of God, and to respond accordingly. Pray for our team as we are embarking upon this new season, and that the RHEMA of God dwells in us richly, and continues to overflow to the nations.
