As many of you have probably realized I am not a great writer and therefore have a hard time writing blogs. Therefore, every week in addition to a new blog post every month or so I will be posting prayer requests pertaining to the life of my family, work and of course my World Race preparation.
I want to be able to keep y’all updated on my life while not writing a blog every week, I have a rather busy work schedule and having time to sit down and write a blog isn’t always available. That being said, here is a list of prayer requests and the first 3 verses out of I Corinthians 13 from the Message (a paraphrase).
Requests:
-In January I lost my grandpa on my mom’s side to cancer and strokes. As a result my grandma moved down to Lexington, KY to live with my uncle and his family and I have been living in the house taking care of things. This week she has moved back to their house; she has Parkinson’s which makes it very difficult to get around and have a hard time staying mentally alert. She has nurses who come stay with her during the day. Prayers for her as there is a time of adjustment for her and for me having her back in the house.
-My brother and his wife are expecting their first kid in just about a month from now. Prayers for them in a time of huge expectation and transition, and prayers for their son.
-Prayers for my parents and younger brothers as they are out of the country and not able to be here to help take care of my grandma. Also, as they won’t be able to be with my brother and his wife until a couple of months after my nephew is born.
– Prayers for my world Race Team as we are three months from our training camp in June. Along with that, safe travels for everyone driving and flying in for the training camp. I will have an 7-8 hour drive down to Georgia.
-Praise! I am 22% funded as of this week. I need to be at 35% by may and 50% by July. Prayers that financial support keeps coming in and I am able to meet these deadlines.
-Praise! This week is the 50th anniversary of my home church in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, Cristo Viene. They are having special services tomorrow evening. With a special meal tonight to celebrate Father’s Day in Bolivia.
I Corinthians 13:1-3 (the Message- a paraphrase)
If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don’t love, I’m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate.
If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing.
If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.
