In any relationship communication needs to be established for growth and getting to know someone deeper. Personally, I have a hard time opening up and talking to people. I am rather reserved and it takes a while for me to get to know someone because I’m not good at taking initiative in starting up conversations. The same is said for me concerning prayer, I have a hard time setting apart time to pray and listen.

Prayer is vital in our relationship with God, because it’s simply talking to Him and yet I have the hardest time setting time aside for simply being with Him. It’s easy to say that work gets in the way, I have a busy life, I have a lot on my plate right now, etc. All of these excuses fall way short for me and I know it. Relationships shouldn’t be a burden, they should be something where our burdens and worries disappear because we trust and can talk with each other. This goes especially for our relationships with Christ; I’m speaking as much to myself as I am to whoever reads this.

He wants to listen to us, He wants to help us out, and He wants to bless us. Don’t think that He doesn’t understand our problems; Jesus understands everything we are going through, He was a man and was tempted just as we are.
(Luke 4).

Jesus, too got burned out and tired from His ministry. After the feeding of the 5,000 in Matthew 14:13-21…”Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while He dismissed the crowd. After he had dismissed them, he went up to the mountainside by himself to pray. When evening came He was there alone…” (Matthew 14:22-24)

In Luke 11, after being asked by His disciples about how to pray, Jesus answers:

He said to them, “When you pray, say: “‘Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.’”

Jesus wants me to give everything over to Him. My job situation, my housing, my relationships, stress for the future, my struggles with sin, everything. I am not someone who gets overly stressed out and I don’t have panic attacks but I hold onto what I think I need to control. He wants to take care of me everyday, “Give us each day our daily bread…” He wants to give us exactly what we need and trust Him for it.

I was watching a sermon recently from a pastor, Robert Morris from Gateway Church in Texas, he was saying that Jesus was referencing the Israelite’s collecting manna in the desert and was comparing it to the asking for daily bread. The manna was proved in the desert and stopped coming once they entered into the promised land.

He gave them what they needed everyday. No more. No less.

This is how y’all could be praying for me:

– For the Provision of a solid prayer team and financial necessities for the World Race.

– For my teammates who are on the same journey I am.

– For a solid job that I can hold until the race begins to be able to save money and pay off bills.

I’m being challenged to pray this everyday. He will provide everyday.
