A while back I had asked my parents if they wouldn’t mind writing a short blog for me. I apologize for being slow in writing another one of my own. I plan on writing a new one very soon, but in the meantime please enjoy this short message from my parents:

We’re so thankful for Tim and the Lord’s leading in his life! As Tim shared in earlier blog posts, his paths and plans have taken some unexpected turns this year. Looking back, though, we can see the Lord’s hand in it all.

None of us knew how desperately his grandparents would need help in December and January, but the Lord knew!  God worked through a disappointing job situation to direct Tim to live with them, positioning him exactly where he needed to be in order to help them in some of the most difficult days of their lives.  Days of illness leading to the day of his grandpa’s death and his grandma’s days and months of grief.

We know that Tim has been in the right place at the right time, as only God could orchestrate.  Now as he sets his sights on the World Race, we’re asking and trusting God to open the doors to again lead him to the right place at the right time.

Whether it is giving back to grandparents who have given so much to him or reaching out to impoverished people across language and cultural barriers, what is Tim’s mission? What is the mission of any disciple of Jesus Christ?  Is it not to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and to love others not only as we love ourselves, but also as Christ has loved us all?

Consider the message of the song, “The Mission”,  written by John Mohr and Randall Dennis.  http://stevegreenministries.org/product/the-mission-4/

There’s a call going out
Across the land in every nation
A call to those who swear allegiance to the cross of Christ
A call to true humility, to live our lives responsibly
To deepen our devotion to the cross at any price

Chorus:

To love the Lord our God
Is the heartbeat of our mission
The spring from which our service overflows
Across the street
Or around the world
The mission’s still the same
Proclaim and live the Truth
In Jesus’ name

………..

May God help us all to love Him so completely that wherever He allows to be, we will pour out our lives in service to others while proclaiming and living the truth in Jesus’ name.
