Let's start at the beginning… for those of you who don't know me, my name is Timothy James Larson, but most of the time I go by Tim.

I am the youngest of three boys and have lived my entire life in Northern Minnesota with the occasional missions trip out of the country and a summer internship in Alaska.

I did things a little backwards from what most people do in that I moved away and lived in the dorms during high school then moved back into my parents house for college where I went to school at Bemidji State University for mass communications with an electronic media emphasis.

Leaving home for high school was probably one of the best things I ever did… it gave me the chance to redefine myself, to start fresh with people who didn't have a preconceived idea of who I was. I started making true friendships that went beyond the surface of lunchroom table conversations. Living in the dorms with 40 high school guys, I learned what it meant to live in a community and helped give me the confidence to step into leadership roles.

Since college I have been working as a producer/director at the local PBS television station in Bemidji, which has it's office on the college campus. So even after getting a "real" job I still ended up going back to campus for work five days a week.

Missions trip to Guatemala in March of 2011I love photography as well as using video to help tell stories!

A few of my interests are:

   •    God, and knowing Him more
   •    People
   •    Multimedia (Photography, Videos, Audio)
   •    Live events and atmosphere
   •    Music
   •    Love (not limited by the world’s definition)
   •    Servanthood
   •    Food 😉

Matthew 5 says: "Blessed are the poor in spirit… Blessed are those who mourn… Blessed are the meek… Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness… Blessed are the merciful… Blessed are the pure in heart… Blessed are the peacemakers… Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness…" reading that, I know there is room for growth in all of these areas in my life.

I don't think it necessarily takes going to another country to grow in any of these areas, but it's easy to get stuck in routine doing the same things every day or every week. I would like to break that routine and really focus on what God is speaking to me about as I get to know, learn from, and do whatever I can to try and serve His people around the world.

I realize His plan may be something completely different than anything I can plan for myself, but I'm willing to step out, go and listen.

So I go.

I am in need of partners as embark on this journey, please pray for me as I go!

And send any questions, comments, or words of encouragement for me, let me know!
