Well,
as the title indicates I am in Africa.
After an 8 hour flight from Bangkok to Nairobi, a 3 hour layover and a 4
hour flight from Nairobi to Johannesburg.
We are in South Africa! It’s
quite the contrast from Thailand.
Immediately I noticed it wasn’t nearly as hot or humid. This is the middle of their winter and the
average high here is in the 70’s and lows in the 50’s…awesome! I also noticed that everything in South
Africa is in English and everyone speaks English. It’s been a pretty weird last few days because
we’ve been grilling out at our hostel brats, cheeseburgers and drinking
Mountain Dew. Which don’t get me wrong,
has been pretty amazing. But it doesn’t
really feel like we’re in Africa yet.
Last
night we caught a night bus to Nelspruit.
We’re staying here today and then tomorrow we’ll be crossing the border
into Mozambique. Unfortunately we still
don’t know a lot about our ministry or specific location, but you get used to
it.
Please
be in prayer or our squad. South Africa
is a pretty dangerous place where past squads have had a lot of trouble with
robbery and thievery. So pray for our
protection here. Also please pray that logistically
God would work everything out for us to get to our locations on time and
easily.
