So i will share with you the story about the day that our team went out and did some street ministry…  We all knew that we were going out that day to ‘Little Mexico’ in Gainesville, I believe, to pray and speak to people. It was going to be a completely Holy Spirit driven day, go and do whatever God tells you basically. We met up that morning and prayed  for God to reveal things to us about where to go, who to talk to, what to look for, things like that. We ended up having about a half a page of extremely random things haha. Things likea lady with blond hair, a lady with dark hair and flowers on her dress, red shirt, red and white building, divorce or feelings of separation, stop light, hair, psalms 91,a man sitting on a wall, playing guitar in a park, being in a park, older man, Precious and I both came to the same random verse at the exact time out of no where. Thats all i can remember off the top of my head but anyway so we left and i was nervous, not a scared of what we were going to do nervous, but one that was more of anticipation and expectancy. When we got to little mexico we headed down to a guy that looked like he was sitting on a wall. We prayed for him and his friends and then headed across the parking lot to the strip mall. We found some more men hangin out and we prayed healing for one mans sister I believe, while we were praying Precious felt something about her stomach or her right side (but that doesn’t come till later) We turned the corner and saw the word HAIR on a sign outside a salon, the girls felt led to go in a prayed for the young girl behind the front desk. We started walking again and all came to the conclusion that this part of town didn’t feel right it felt like we were forcing it. So we went to get ice cream, it just so happens that right next to this particular ice cream shop was a huge park. We went down and sat on the swings and almost immediately we were praying for a woman’s brother in-law who was in the hospital. We knew that this was where we were supposed to be. We just kept hanging out and started to walk the path around the park. Bathroom Break. I looked over and Jory was talking to a man down by the lake so i headed over, he was from Vietnam (one of the countries i will be visiting) and we talked for about ten minutes and left to meet up with the girls again who were praying for a few woman who were picnicking. As we met up and were going to start walking again the Vietnamese guy walked up with his two girls (one of wich had dark hair and flowers on her dress) so we introduced the rest of the team and talked about Vietnam for a while, and we ended up getting a contact over there! Awesome. Walking, walking. Next family, we walked past and one of the girls felt that we needed to go back and talk to her. She was there with her 8 kids and her husband (who she was having separation troubles with) so we prayed and talked to them for a while and shared the verse Precious and i found, because it was oh so fitting for the moment ๐Ÿ™‚ Walking, walking… Older man. We stop and talk to him, he mentions Psalms 91, and talked and awkwardly long time about how much Jesus loved perfume, which God knew i would pick up on the awkwardness haha (we’ll get to that later) So then we left the park, and realized that we really didn’t have to try to do anything God was just putting these people in our path as we were enjoying spending the day together! So we headed to the mall ๐Ÿ™‚ After a book store session the girls headed into Bath & Body Works, I looked at Jory and all of a sudden remembered that the guy in the park talked so much about how Jesus loves perfume (If you’ve ever smelled your way past a B&BW you’ll know that you could probably pass out if you stood there to long) anyways i said we’ve got to go in. Jory went straight up to this lady (with blonde hair) and asked her “if you could buy anything in the store for someone one would it be, what is your favorite thing in here, something that you don’t have…” He ended up wrapping it and then handing it to her! We found out that she had a horrible day, and was struggling with a lot in her life (side note – one of the things was pain on the right side of her stomach). A couple of the girls stayed and talked to her for awhile and they exchanged info. The last person we met was a man who was in a wheel chair, he used to be a youth group leader and we prayed and talked with him for awhile. He was so awesome and it was such a blessing to meet him. We finished up with some pizza and kind of all digested everything that just happened. We were all so excited, and determined that it was our goal to eventually live everyday like that. We were living the will of God that afternoon. We didn’t have to force anything, we just enjoyed each others company and listened to the Spirit and it was all good! I feel like i really rushed this blog and only got about half of the things we wrote down and of the other amazing things that happened but you got the idea ๐Ÿ™‚ it was a good day!
