Buenos Dias Mi amigos y Mi Familia,
May God bless you and give you encouragement when you need it the most.
This past month in Nicaragua has been such an eye opening experience. The world betrays so much of the negativity of Central America that sometimes you forget to see the good. Here is a story to show you that there is more good in the world then one sees.
To start off the locals down here are so kind and caring. During this month we would go house to house and pray among the sick; prayer for the families or just sit down and have causal conversations with the locals. It was amazing to see how God opened conversations. They would invite us in and bring out any chairs they had. When we would walk down the street they would smile and way back to us.
Several times on our prayer walks we, meet Sebastian and San Anontia. This elderly couple welcomed us in with open arms and such joy and faith. While talking with them the first time, they requested prayers for healing and protection of their families. Then he told us about God loves for us. He was telling us that his faith in God will heal him. Then he told the translator to bless our group. As we were leaving, one our members had a little mishap with his Spanish. He was going to bless their marriage but ending up blessing their marriage of cows instead. (they dont have any cows) We all laughed. A week later God had us coming back to them again. God healed his pain. It was a sight to see. They both were so over joyed to see is us again. We spent am hour talking and listening to him tell his story of his walk in faith. How he was tired of no real faith in the churches for years. As he was telling his story, God gave him a message to tell our group. He says God is going to bless us so much. By coming away from the United States to Nicaragua, and following his command, this takes so much courage and strength. He told us that God will bless us . He encouraged us to continue the task of allowing God speak through us. He said, “ Many other people have come to talk to us , but God was not present in them.”
This is not the only story of prayer walking. Many people are hungry for Gods love down here. We have prayed for people who do not know him. Everyone who we talked just opened their love and home to us.
Sometimes its as simple as a smile or kind words to make day. The world is not as it always seems.
