If I could tell future racers one thing it would be to not stress yourself out too much over the endurance hike at training camp. I was working two jobs before leaving for launch and training camp. I really did not have time to fit in much practicing with my 45-pound pack. Needless to say, when I did have time to practice, I did take advantage of it! Looking back on when I was practicing, I remember the one day that I was just completely exhausted and trying to hike. Needless to say, I was complaining to myself about having to practice, because I knew I was making the time anyways. Deep down I just knew I did not have much time left to practice and I really just wanted to do other things.
After I completed my hike with my pack that day I went back home and God decided to smack me in the face that night! Let me just tell you this really fast, WHEN GOD CALLS YOU TO DO SOMETHING AND YOU SAY YES DON’T COMPLAIN!!!!! YOU SAID YES NOW CONTINUE TO SAY YES AND LET GOD USE YOU! That night when I was doing my devotion, God spoke to me and asked me….. “why are you complaining about your heavy backpack? I carried the cross for you!”
Yes, Yes, Yes, needless to say God smacked me in the face that night. Now every time I wear my backpack, I am reminded daily of what God truly did for me that day. He carried all of my sin’s past, present, and future and HE DIDN’T EVEN KNOW ME YET!!!! I was not even born! I cannot think of a single person that I would have gone through all that for and not even know them! God’s love is jaw droppingly amazing. He went through so much for me. I am so imperfect in every way, but God loves me anyways.
So, Future racers out there…… Remember what God did for you. Remember that when you say yes to God he will carry you through. So, my advice for you now racer is to never stop saying yes to God he will blow your mind and take you places you never expected. He has big plans for you!
What will you do next??? What is your next yes for God??? Let him use you to build his Kingdom!
Love Always,
Tiffany Stewart
