Dear Jesus,
Thank you. Thank you for continuous blessings. From all the good things to the struggles you’ve helped me fight off. Thank you for giving me endless opportunities. I know I don’t say this a lot but thank you for my story… our story. Thank you for all the people you have carefully handpicked to be part of this story. But more specifically, thank you for the two most sacrificial people that were placed here from the beginning. My parents.
Oh what beautiful hearts they have. A beautiful hunger for you. A continuous exploration of you.
Because of my parents, I know you. And that is the most important. Because of a choice they made in the past to follow you, I also get that opportunity. And I am continually growing and seeing the beauty of who you are. I still remember every night when dad would kneel at the side of my bed and I would climb on his back and we would pray before bed. Or when mom would lead the question game, in the car, after Wednesday night church service. (Pretty simple game actually: have someone ask you a Bible story question, if you don’t know the answer, you ask for choices and they should provide you three choices to choose from).
Because of my parents, I know how to serve others. I understand the importance of loving your neighbor no matter the situation you are in. The kind of steadfast/unconditional love you show us every single day if we are not so busy focusing on the clutter of this world to notice.
Thank you for giving me parents that leave me speechless. That no amount of words can express how thankful I am for them. Parents that when you try to describe them, no words can do them justice.
Every time I am asked to share my testimony it is impossible to leave them out of it. That’s how important they are. To be guest stars in our story is a huge deal.
I hope they know just how much I love them. Just how much I appreciate all the sacrifices they have made for me. I hope I can continue to make them proud. Because they deserve an overflow of your blessings.
No they are not perfect. They make mistakes. That’s what being human is. But to me they are darn near close.
So thank you Jesus. Thank you that I can call George and Marcy Romeos my parents. Because of them I am here (obviously) and because of them I can say I have experienced you.
In Jesus’ name, Amen
Love you mostestestestest padres
What are you most thankful for?
Happy Thanksgiving!!!
