I love seeing the word of God transform people’s hearts and lives.
This month my team and I are in Indonesia on an island called Ambon. We are working with Wycliffe which is a Bible translating organization. They work with the native people who live here on Ambon and the neighboring islands to translate the Bible into their native language. Their still needs to be 200 languages that needs translation started in Indonesia. Indonesia has about 17,000 islands and over 700 different languages in a whole. Their goal is to start a translation in every language in Indonesia by 2025.
Since we have been here, they have gone through the translating process with us. It takes a while because they want it to be accurate, clear, natural to read. It took about a year for them to get the book of Mark translated into Ambonese-Maluke. They publish each book and give it to the protestant church here in Ambon.
They have a 50/50 religion of Islam and Protestant here on Ambon. We got to meet the president of the Protestant church and the main people who is in charge of the church. They want us to teach the people at the office of the Protestant church English. They also organized us to go to two different islands to preach to their young people. They want us to create relationships with the young people on these islands and help them practice their English (really teach them English). The Protestant church is paying for our transportation, food, and lodging. What a blessing they are.

A prayer that I prayed to God in Honduras was that I would have more of a passion for the Bible and I would long for the Bible like I have never longed before. The Lord has answered that prayer. Since I have been here learning about Bible translating, I have encountered the Bible in a new way. It makes my heart leap and get butterflies when I hear about stories of how the Bible has brought people to tears and to fall on their knees. It makes me want to read it in that perspective. Reading it in a way of it being my first time hearing it and how it is God speaking to me directly in my own language. It’s such a privilege and honor.
I want to say thank you for everyone who has donated and prayed for provision for me. I currently need $5,370 to be fully funded. The deadline to be fully funded is coming up at the end of this month. Would you consider partnering with me by donating any amount to help me be fully funded? Thank you!
