It’s my birthday and I’m traveling from Vietnam to Cambodia. I have a cast on my arm because my elbow is broken and in a broken state before the Lord. It is not what I wanted or expected. But I think that is what makes it so beautiful and unique. There is so much to be thankful for. I am thankful for transportation to get from country to country. I am thankful for my squadmates that help carry my bags, that buy me candy and donuts, that bring little birthday notes to me on the bus ride, that sing happy birthday to me when I get on the bus! I’m thankful for warm hugs and big smiles. I’m thankful for the beautiful view of Vietnam I have on the bus while driving to Cambodia. I’m thankful for the music that I’m able to listen to while I write this. I’m thankful for my life that God chose and uniquely created. I’m thankful for Jesus coming and dying on the cross and conquering the grave so all human kind and I could have freedom. I’m thankful for God breathing on me to not just live but be alive. I am so thankful for all my friends and family and everyone who God puts in front of me in a season or long term. I don’t want to take things for granted anymore. I am not owed anything in life but God out of his mercy and love gives me things I need and even want sometimes(even though it might not be how I expect it or the time I want it). God is always faithful and keeps his promises no matter if it is years down the road or even when we are gone.
What can you be thankful for today? It could be small or big. Today, let’s thank Jesus together because he deserves the praise.
Ps. Two days after my birthday my team surprised me by finding balloons in the middle of nowhere and putting them on my bed after I fell asleep. Gotta love World Race Birthdays. Shoutout to my team!
I have $4,000 left to raise to be fully funded! please pray and think about helping me get to my final goal!
