I am going to
start out this blog by saying that there are no words (and not even pictures)
that can fully describe World Race Training Camp but I’m certainly going to
try. I really wish that everyone could
go through a training camp like this because I honestly feel like a completely
different person – I feel more free than I ever have before!

So let me give
you some definitions on the lingo you’ll begin to see on my blog. First of all – My squad (V Squad! AKA V Unit!) is everyone that is going on the
same race route as me next year. My
squad is the bomb – We had some major bonding time & we really are a
family! Oh yeah, and we WON Squad
Wars!!

V Squad!  Yes, that really is a V Shaped Log that we found while camping!

We have Squad
Leaders
– These are people that have done the World Race before and they will
be coming with us for the first 4 months next year to make sure we’re good to
go. They’ll be working primarily with
the Team Leaders and they will raise up Squad Leaders out of our squad when
they leave.  Robby will be primarily working with the men on our squad (I cannot say enough about how great our V Squad men are!  True men of God!)

Our Squad Leaders – Lindsay Nelson, Robby Riggs, and Bethany Holland

Speaking of Team
Leaders
, I am both humbled and honored to say that I have been chosen to be one
of 8 Team Leaders for my squad! I will
be leading my team (Team Kaleo!) as we launch out into the world – I’ll be the
liaison between the team and the squad leaders and our ministry contacts. Please pray for me that I will have wisdom in
the decisions that will have to be made for the good of my team.   “Kaleo” is the Hawaiian word for “The Called.”

My Team!!  Brent, Hailey, Emily, Jeff, me, Joy & Rosa

Lastly, my race
route did change slightly (mostly the order of the countries) and Indonesia has
been replaced by Malaysia. Here is my
new route:

Dominican Republic, Haiti,
Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Thailand, Cambodia and
Malaysia!

More to come
about Training Camp soon! Stay
tuned!
