Hi Lovely Supporters,
How passion for missions started transforming my heart:
(Also, ignore any grammar errors…I haven’t been fully proofreading :P)
Understanding what the Gospel truly is and Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice has changed my whole perspective on life. I was so use to the watered down, American version of Christianity that I kept missing the concept. Christianity is a lifestyle by choice to love and ultimately follow Jesus to the journey He has planned for your life. I have been led to take that leap of faith and lay down everything in my life to glorify and follow Jesus’ command to share the Gospel and His beautiful love to all nations. Through much prayer, it has been laid upon my heart to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). I have been given the opportunity to go on a mission’s trip through an organization known as The World Race.
The World Race is a program through Adventures in Missions. It’s a journey to 11 countries in 11 months to serve “the least of these.” The World Race calls Christians out of their comfort zones, and provides the opportunity to serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities. We will preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children who are victims of human trafficking, build houses and bring the restorative hope of the Father’s love to many people in other nations. The route I have chosen leaves September 2015 and returns July 2016. My squad will be traveling to: Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. This is also more than just a missions trip…this is a long intensive discipleship trip connected to small community and working together for God’s Kingdom.
For the duration of my trip I will be hiking in each country with what I can carry in a backpack. I was filled with excitement and joy when I realized I can literally live out of my backpack (that’s as big as me) for 11months and spend many nights under the stars in a tent. Cold showers….no problem! Days without taking a shower….maybe no problem! Blisters on my feet from hiking to other villages or countries…do able! Eating strange foods…mmmm! Seeing such beautiful people and experiencing their life all while acknowledging Jesus loves them more than anything…WORTH it ALL.
This is not going to be an easy road. I fully anticipate obstacles, doubts, and frustrations that will deter me. I am nervous, excited, anxious, and scared all at the same time. I don’t know what my future holds, but I know who holds my future. One thing I do know is that this trip will be attainable through Jesus and your loving supportiveness whether that is prayer or financial support. World Race participants are required to fundraise financial support. The total cost of my trip will be $16,267 in order to leave fully funded by September 4th.
This money will cover all my expenses on the field (flights, lodging, health insurance, food…etc). Would you prayerfully consider joining me at $100 monthly or some other amount? If you are not led to support financially, that’s awesome too. I do ask that this opportunity be saturated in prayer during this time of preparation and trustworthiness as I seek Jesus in all His Glory.
I would love to follow up with you about any questions you may have. Feel free to leave comments, email me, or call me. I’ll even take you out for lunch or coffee…on me! (:
In the meantime, follow this blog (tiffanyjohnston.theworldrace.org) to find out more about me and this journey as it begins the start of being planetshakers together. You can even subscribe to this blog and get updates on what I’m doing, where I’m at or even be apart of my prayer group. Also, there is a support tab where you can help fund me. Peace be with you.
Much Love,
Tiffany
