Training Camp Recap #1.
squad is about a 6: 1 girl:guy ratio. And I’ve been prayerfully
preparing for something that would have been a death sentence a year
ago–an all female team. It’s not that this is an extremely likely
scenario, but sometimes I can just sense what God is doing in my life
and where He is taking something.”
Now the only retraction I want to make is that there are in fact 16 guys to about 40 girls. So the ratio is a lot smaller than 6:1…which is just a bigger testament to God’s plans. Anyway, like I said before, I used to be anti-woman. Slowly though, my heart has begun to beat and burst at the beauty of a woman’s soul. As this has developed, I have watched God place fewer and fewer men in my path while simultaneously showering amazing women all around me.
Our January 2011 V-Squad is divided into 8 teams. Naturally, you’d think 16 guys, 8 teams–okay, two guys per team. But that’s not how apples fall when it is God shaking the tree…
The crazy Big God upstairs has me LEADING the ONLY all womens team on our race. Yes, you read that correctly. Yes, I in fact heard God correctly before I left for Georgia.

And I am STOKED. As in, I jumped off the couch when I saw my team list. And then spent awhile having a good chuckle with God*. I cannot begin to tell you how elated I am to walk this next year of my life in uninterrupted sisterhood. I can’t wait to see the powerful ways God is going to use our team to break bondage, to bring freedom all over the world!
Be on the lookout for a post introducing you to my amazing team of sisters!
*Over the course of the race, be prepared for more “paired” blogs like this. The first will say, “Okay, I give up and give into God. I think this is what He is doing in my life, even though I think He’s just doing it to be funny” followed by “Yep. Correct. That is indeed how it played out. Thanks for letting me know ahead of time, God.”
