Almost a month ago, a day after I finally purchased my tent from REI, I got to test it out!
UCLA participates in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life every year, and counting this year, I have attended three years in a row. My mother was diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer when I was young — I don't even know how old I was, I remember the cancer being introduced into our family dynamic so early on, it seemed like my entire childhood. We carried on, living with the cancer for nearly 10 years until the Lord delivered her from it in 2008. I love my mom so so so so dearly, she is the reason I am who I am today and I cannot be more grateful, more blessed to still have her with me. There was so much darkness attached to my childhood because of that consuming cancer — and I never want any child to ever have to experience that.
Itty bitty cancer survivor!
Trying to pitch the tent on my own for the very first time. . .
Fail.
Hurray! Success with a little help 🙂
