Over the past 9 months, I’ve had the privilege of getting to know someone who, if you know her, most people have had the opportunity to know for years. We’ve spent 270 days together and have grown to love each other like family. No one has taught me more about love, and how to have a good time than she has. She’s reminded me to be kind and thoughtful and to start with grace before jumping to conclusions. She makes me laugh hard and is always down to walk to the corner store for snacks. She lets me make her “come with me” ALL the time, to the point of talking about each other in “we” and “us” like old couples do. Here are 9 things I’ve learned about this fire of a human (off the top of my head) and here’s to the next adventure!
1. If she’s upset in any way she’s most likely just hungry.
2. She loves burritos. (Veggie that is. She don’t eat no meat.) And cinnamon rolls. Food groups necessary.
3. If you ever have to make a decision don’t ask her for an opinion. She’s indifferent.
4. Unless you’re asking about movies or food. Then she knows precisely what she does NOT want.
5. She loves talking to strangers. More than most people. She’ll find out their life story in .5 seconds.
6. She can’t go to sleep without her “eventing routine” consisting of “at LEAST” brushing her teeth and washing her face.
7. Becky is her best friend. She’s not like all the other moms. She’s a cool mom. Once took down all Sonja’s Hello Kitty birthday decorations and replaced them with cat ones when she threw a fit. (Sonja was in third grade).
Sones talks a lot about Miguel (super sweet Spanish, always down to hang), Joss (bff, brother’s in a band aka Sap Laughter, loves puns), Lauren (next door neighbor, hangs out with Becky, burritos) and Catherine (longest bff of 14 years, lives two hours away, took a bff graduation shoot even though they lived far away). They’re her people. Kaleb is her brother. He’s really tall. And a basketball player. Go figure. Her dad is kind and a super good cook. Also works at a hospital. 
8. She’s always down for an adventure. I.e. Skinny dipping/spontaneous tattoos and piercings/getting buried alive during ministry…
9. She loves deep, hard and fast
S, you’re like a friend to me. Never change. There’s no one else I’d rather watch endless GoT, Rocky, or Gossip Girl with. Live love laugh. Stay sweet. -T
