1. I used to hate country music even though I grew up in the country. A few years ago when God changed my heart, I got sick and tired of the things rock music sang about so I turned to country music. Now, I can sing along with almost every song and LOVE IT!

2. I truly love people. I can be completely socially awkward at times and many times my personality comes across as kind of stuck-up (I have a REALLY strange sense of humor), but I love doing customer service-type jobs because I love helping people! (but I definitely have my moments of impatience).

3. My favorite color is a slightly brighter blue than “Tiffany Blue”. And I love lime green. I just love bright colors.

4. I like owls. I have started a collection of owls. I have a sweet tattoo of an owl on my calf.

5. I lack compassion. I’m more of a fire and brimstone type of person. I love the Old Testament. Compassion and love is something I am praying for (and beginning to receive!!)

6. I love cats. They are comedic relief. I can watch cats play for hours.

7. I don’t typically like comedians because I don’t like crude or racial humor. At all. Tell me a fart joke and I’ll laugh wholeheartedly.

8. I used to not really like flowers. But I love random bouquets of wildflowers.

9. I have the coolest niece and nephew ever and I will probably miss them the most while I’m gone.

10. I have kind of grown out of my “I love movies” phase and gotten more into “let’s just spend quality time together with conversation”.

11. I love card games. But I get upset if I don’t win every now and then.

12. I’m a country girl and I love the idea of “organic living” but have yet to put that into practice in my life.

13. Coffee is my drink of choice.

14. People think I am at least 10 years younger than I actually am–not because of how I act, but because of how I look.

15. I am scared to death of bees (or anything that flies).

16. I burp.

17. I love Target. Most of my wardrobe is Target brand. Most of my home decor is Target brand. I don’t do Wal-mart anymore. Ever.

18. I don’t do dishes. I dirty them.

19. I have what I call a brown thumb. I kill every plant I’ve gotten. I even killed bamboo.

20. People are normally impressed that I drive a stick shift. I love my vehicle. I even spend all my lunch breaks relaxing in my Ford Explorer sport.

21. Gas was only $.90/gallon when I started driving.

22. My first time ever in an airplane was across the Atlantic ocean.

23. I have horrible eyesight. And I hate wearing glasses because they fall off my face and I lose my peripheral vision. So I need to stock up on contacts and contact solution.

24. When I was about 10 years old, my family was visiting my aunt and uncle in Northern Va and I took the bike out on some bike trails and got horribly lost. I had no idea where I was or where I was going. It was the scariest event of my life thus far and I know it is only by God that I was able to actually find my way back to their house 2 hours later.

25. I have a wonderful sense of direction and can normally find my way through anything. (probably a trait my body formed when I was 10.)

26. I have The Little Mermaid memorized word for word.

27. I also love Rainbow Brite and always asked my mom to give me a “Rainbow Brite ponytail” (on the side of my head).

28. So far, I am the only one in my immediate family who has a college degree.

29. I have gray hair.

30. I am amazed at how much I have changed in the past 2 years. And how much I am continuing to change.

31. I would rather spend a vacation in the mountains than at the beach. Sand is gross and most of the time, the beach is too “busy”. If I take vacation, I want to relax and what’s more relaxing than the peacefulness and beauty of a cabin in the woods?

32. I don’t ever really watch TV, but I have gotten into a few shows via Netflix. Like Desperate Housewives and How I Met Your Mother.

33. I am a family person. Friends can be close, but only your family has seen you at your worst, best, embarrassing, and whatever else and still love you regardless.

34. I really enjoy watching the DIY or HGTV channels. That’s about it.

35. I am looking forward to learning and absorbing so many different cultures. Some of my friends think I am going to come back a hippie. I’m not entirely opposed to it solely for getting out of the ‘American ways’.

36. I grind my teeth at night. Its so bad, I have even been confused with a “mutant bug”. And no, I do not wear a mouthpiece and yes, I am aware that I should.

37. I don’t go to the doctor. Why would I go somewhere to have someone tell me there is something wrong with me. I’d rather be ignorant of it. (if I know I need antibiotics, I’ll go solely to get a prescription.)

38. I broke my hand by hitting a solid wood door. I was angry. I don’t do that anymore.

39. I don’t like belly buttons.

40. I’m normally right. The only time when I can admit when I’m not is when you show me actual evidence to prove otherwise. Then I’ll pray about it. 🙂

41. I have been robbed at gunpoint at work. I also had a car run into my building at work. I invite danger, obviously.

42. I may look pretty small and fragile, but I’m actually a really strong person, physically, spiritually, and emotionally. (don’t be fooled by the tears: I am a waterfall of tears, but I’m still pretty strong) I’ve dealt with a lot of troubles in my life because of my previous lifestyle, but I’ve gotten through them and I’m a stronger woman because of it. God is my strength.

43. I don’t consider myself a materialistic person. I don’t care about how much money I have. I know God will provide for the necessities. But there are a few things that I will not go cheap on only because I want them to last. I’d rather spend more money on the quality of an item.

44. I tease people I like. Maybe I shouldn’t. Sometimes it can be offensive to the wrong person. I need to learn to not say the first thing that pops in my head.

45. I tried to start making a quilt. It’s harder than it seems. I need to actually finish the projects I start. We will see if I complete it before I leave.

46. I don’t care for icecream. I would rather have Italian ice.

47. I used to go muddin, rootin, four-wheeling, or whatever you call it. And I pride myself on the fact that I can maneuver a 4WD pretty well in some rough terrain.

48. I was the youngest child (and the only girl) for 11 years. I had a pretty sweet life. But then my little brother came along and ruined everything. But he has actually turned out alright, but I’ll never admit that in public. Haha

49. I like the outdoors, but I don’t like bugs. I find it unfortunate I can’t find one without the other.

50. It’s difficult to come up with 50 things about yourself.
