This journey is going to change my life.
I think I probably expect the same thing that most racers expect: I have no idea what to expect!!
1. I do know that God will do some radical things in my life, in the lives I come in contact with, and also in your lives.
2. I know that God will continue to shape me into the person He wants me to be.
3. I know that God will confirm in my heart what He wants me to do for the rest of my life and where He wants me to be.
4. I know I will have to rely on God for everything in my life. It isn't going to be easy and there will probably be times where I will just want to come home. But I am going to have to trust that God knows what He is doing and that He has complete control over all things.
5. I hope to be able to grow with a community of believers all living together for one purpose and that we can uplift each other, share with each other, pray with each other, convict each other, and love each other the way God intended for the Church.
6. I expect to grow closer to my Father because He will be all I have at times. (And I can't wait for that one!)
7. I hope I don't get lice and have to shave my head.
8. I think I will have a better understanding of how to love and serve my neighbor and hopefully take that with me forever.
9. I expect to miss my friends and family. And I expect them (you) to consistantly pray for me and my team. 🙂
10. I expect to come home a different person.
I made a decision to follow Christ no matter what. I fully believe that He will take care of me. But even if He does not, I will still follow Christ.
Daniel 3:16-18
"Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego replied to the king, 'O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to give you an answer concerning this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the furnace of blazing fire; and He will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.'"
