Me: “I’ll close my eyes, just weight it”

Casey: “Oh Tiff, you aren’t going to like this…26lbs”

That seems like a small number…unless the airlines guidelines say your daypack cannot weight more than 15lbs! IN WHAT WORLD? Who makes these absurd restrictions? They obviously have never traveled for longer than 6 days.

Travel days are always a challenge for me cause I have an incurable condition of over packing. I get frazzled and want to fold up shop every time I have to pull out that teeny, tiny red backpack and try to fill it with the few items I carried on this journey. Each month I get rid of things but my pack is shrinking. Somehow, it seems to never get lights and only get more bloated.

Nonetheless, after having me sitting on it and two guys forcing it to zip, I got it closed. I may or may not have filled my pockets to the brim so I could put my daypack on the scale and see 15lbs. Glad that’s over. After making it through that monstrosity, I sat down with a sigh of relief and an excitement in my heart to be getting on another plane!

We flew from Bucharest, Romania to Doha, Qatar. There we had a 22-hour lay over. Here’s to sleeping in the airport right? But God. He loves me so much. The airlines put us up in a hotel! Praise Him. Even better, they paid for our meals too. SCORE! I’m telling ya, pays to be a child of the King. Did I mention this hotel was across the street from the Persian Gulf? I know, I know…you’re thinking this is not a mission trip. People, it’s not my fault God just loves me so much. J

After leaving Qatar, we arrived in Hyderabad, India. Before me now is a whole new culture, language, people and cuisine to experience, and most importantly, many souls to be won to the Kingdom. I could feel the darkness when I stepped off the plane it was overwhelming and real. His whisper in my ear however, was even more real than the tangible darkness… “I am with you, in you and My light can outshine even the darkest darkness”.

“The darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining…the Lord your God shall be your everlasting LIGHT…arise and shine for your light has come.”

There is a light that outshines the deepest darkness. His name is Jesus and He lives in me. It is that Light I carry into this nation and it is that Light that will attract and transform the lost souls.

“…And the nations shall come to your light.”
