Training at launch
I made it to launch and immediately started sessions. Most of the teaching was review of the things that I learned at training camp. This included;(but not limited to) Communication, Feedback and of course Safety Management.
However, on the second to last night, we covered things that we’re taught differently then to the way I was raised, particularly in the matter of Spiritual gifts. After the session my team discussed this teaching and we’re going back to the Bible to see what it has to say about it. Although, I wont go into all of what we discussed, I do want to tell you how amazing it was to see my team desired to talk and seek out what the Lord has to say in his Word. It reminded me of the verse in Acts 17:11.
“Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.” Acts 17:11 ESV
Seeing the desire my team had for seeking the truth gave me such a fire to seek out everything that is being taught and test it to the scriptures. I am so expectant to all that God has in store this year. Because I know I am going to encounter him in amazing ways, because He promises me that I will find Him when I seek with all my heart. (Jeremiah 29:13)
Just as I am being challenged with always testing everything to the teaching of the Bible, I want to challenge all of you to do the same! It has given me such a greater understand of the God that I serve, and that will continue, if I continue to seek Him. I want that for everyone I know! So go seek the Lord, and you will find Him.
We have launched!
My Squad and I are currently in the Boston, Massachusetts airport waiting for our plane. By the time we get on the plane we will have been in the airport for a total of 14hrs! Although I might not have chosen to spend 14hrs in the airport, it has been a great opportunity to bond as a team and for that I am very happy. My team and I will all arrive at our ministry site on Saturday, September 15th.
–Prayer Requests-We are all very excited to make it to Africa and start our ministry !
- Pray that we have opportunities while we are in airports and buses to share the Good News!
- Pray for safety, and pray against sickness
- Pray that I have a heart that is ready to surrender to whatever the Lord is calling me to.
