Originally, when we got to Nicaragua, our contacts told us that our ministry was to build relationships with the kids. To start, there was Emi, Abigail, Stacy, and Sammy. Abigail left to live with her mom in Managua at the beginning of last week and Stacy is gone now too. Now, we've heard it said that Emi might be gone by the time we are gone. It took me a bit to find my place and purpose around here. With this, I felt at a loss for why God had us here.
Then, one night, during team time, we were praying for Gabe when Sammy joined us. When I finished praying, I asked Sammy if he could pray for Gabe. Sammy moved to the front of Gabe putting his hand on Gabe's chest over his heart. He, then, began to declare truths:
"God lives in your heart. He loves you. God loves you. You are never alone. You are His son."
To hear his prayer be so simple and so full of trust. And Sammy was speaking directly into Gabe's life.
That is why we are here.
