1. We were repeatedly warned not to sit on the floor because our eggs would freeze. They are not kidding either. They seriously do not want you to sit on the floor.
2. I never thought that anyone in the world would prefer communism until I got to Transnitria. But some of them do. I had a Russian soldier tell me that he was a patriot for his country- the Soviet Union.
3. I suppose I should mention that Transnitria or Prednistrovia as they would call it is a part of Moldova that considers itself a seperate country and is applying for standing with the UN. There is a border crossing and DO NOT tell them that it is not a real country. They don't like that.
4. English club is so much fun; but, it will ruin your grammer. After teaching for a month and constantly overlooking grammer mistakes and speaking in simple sentences, you begin speaking to eachother very slowly and in poor grammer.
5. While digging on private property, we were yelled at by a KGB officer saying "Come with us. You'll have more fun."
6. I experienced one of the craziest worship nights of my life. They were speaking in tongues. Some people were running. There was an old man in Nikes jumping up and down right in front.
7. So the sun didn't shine for a whole month. Not even kidding. Did not shine. By a miracle of God, my spirits were high. In the past, I get sluggish and lethargic after only a couple of days without sun. God is truely good to me.
8. Appreciate your family. I didn't speak to mine for the month so that I could learn some things from God and it was really hard. Don't waste time. Call home. Make that visit. Time is precios and you don't know when you won't have it anymore.
9. Years ago I had a dream about a tree and how I had to make it to the top because it was the most important thing I would do in my life. God has been steadily revealing things about this tree to me and this month he used a kid who sat next to me on the bus. Ben spoke great English and played the cello and God used him to tell me more about my tree. There is fruit on my tree. Who knew? And at the top, there are great, big flowers with big green leaves.
10. I neglected prayer this month and I suffered for it. Don't forget to pray. Don't forget to talk to your Father. He cares for you and wants to spend time with you. When you don't speak to him, it doesn't hurt him. It hurts you. Be close with the Father. It is the best thing you can do for yourself.
11. Transnistria is awesome. I absolutely loved my time in this coutry and with these people. They are warm and friendly and full of live and love. I hope that I can see them again one day but I know that God is with them constantly and, through him, we are connected.
