So, I’ve been at CGA for 3 weeks now and I’m sure that some of you are wondering “What in the world is she doing out there?” I am happy to let you know.
We spent the first two weeks in different activities including a God- seeking camping/hiking trip and classes focusing on who God has made us.
Now, we have focused into a routine of sorts. This is what I am most excited to tell you about.
I am working in the office in the mornings. Sounds boring, right? You thought that I would be back doing great, crazy adventures. Believe it or not, this is becoming more of a challenge to me than the field was. I don’t think that I’m really cut out for the office and, sometimes, I struggle to stay focused and motivated. God is teaching me many things through these days.
But I said I was excited… I am excited. Because, in this office, I am part of a team of dedicated people working to set up many trips at Adventures. I work in the Encounter department where they organize every trip except for the World Race and Passport. We work on trips for families, churches, youth groups, and individuals. These trips are domestic and oversees. Through these trips, individuals are able to see God work in their own lives and in the lives of those they meet. We consistently hear stories of God’s provision and mercy through these trips.
Soon, I will be able to tell you stories from the field. These won’t be my stories because I lived them. They will be my stories because God has allowed me to be part of the making. And for that I’m excited.
Then there are afternoons. We have been blessed to have several people who have volunteered to lead us in interactive classes (for lack of a better word). We will be learning about our calling, living our calling, interacting with the living Word of God, spiritual formation, and I have chosen a course called Women Who Can. These courses are designed to allow us to be fully alive in who God made us to be.
I cannot begin to thank you all for your support. I will be at CGA through the new year but I still need $1200 to finish my time here. If you would like to donate, you can do so through the “support me” button at the top left hand side of this screen.
