Blogs.

(You can tell me later how my creativity is really shining through my blog titles)

Blogs are weird.  Everyone and their mother reading what you write.  I’m not used to it.  It’s easy to please any professor with big words and eloquent sentences.  Writing a paper filled with only the most tasteful garbage to reach the professor’s page quota is my forte.

So bear (bare? No. Bear is an animal..right? English is stupid.) with me here.  This whole blog thing is going to be a process.  No space fillers, or terribly drawn out sentences to reach the next page.  Just honesty.. which in a way makes me cringe, but here goes nothing.

I’ve been thinking about what to write my next blog about for weeks.  Should it be about fundraising?  I mean that’s been pretty prevalent so far.  School’s starting back up!.. ehh, but nobody really wants to hear about my sports professor.  How about life?  Well, that’s just dumb.

Instead of just talking about some pointless subject, I’d like to talk about Jesus (You guys should’ve seen this coming).  So here I am in Luke 12, and I read:

“Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them.  And how much more valuable you are than birds!”-Luke 12:24

I’ve read this probably a thousand times, and it gets more applicable and beautiful every time I read it.

Flashback to my thoughts during the past month: While all of my friends will graduate and probably have jobs when I get back from World Race, I’ll be living at home.  Can you say weird?  No really, just say it.  I’ll be 24 and living at home.  I’m not a fan.  Really, it’s weird.

While post-World Race employment is running through my mind, Jesus says not to worry.  He tells his disciples that God takes care of even birds, so why wouldn’t he take care of you?  I always picture Jesus saying this verse with a certain tone.  Like, “God takes care of birds every day, why wouldn’t he take care of you?  Don’t be dumb.”  I find it extra comforting because Jesus says it with excitement as it is written with an exclamation point, but take that as you will.

How comforting is that though?

Think about it.

So I know you guys were thirsting for more of my amateur scripture analysis, but that’s basically it for today.  Like I said, no page fillers.  Short and simple.

Thanks for reading.

P.S.- Also, to all those who have shown interest in my trip (Even to those who have asked me how it was going):  You have provided great encouragement on levels I can hardly explain.  Thank you.  If anyone would like to help send me on World Race, just go through the “Support Me” tab at the top left of this page!
