We ended Ireland and Europe with quite a bang! From our contacts in Greystones we came to Dublin for a little over a week to camp with our tents at Camac Valley Park, for the purpose of the Awakening and our first squad debrief. Oh ya and we got new teams!
First off, I can’t thank our contacts Jim and Kathy enough for the Love and hospitality they showed us while we stayed in their home. They also blessed with the use of their caravan while we were at the Park, so some of our girls were able to sleep in the caravan and stay warm and dry. We were also able to use the stove and refrigerator the caravan came with, so again they provide us with a blessing even after we we left their home. And we can’t forget all the bread, beans, grapefruit and pastries they gave us!
The Awakening……an interesting experience. Much of what I’ve seen through the World Race has been a new experience for me. I’m very happy that the Awakening provided a spiritual recharge for many of the Racers and gave many people the oppurtinity to experience the Holy Spirit in a way that up to that point they had been lacking on the race. I can’t say for myself that the Awakening was that kind of experience. Many of the ways that others choose to worship and interpret the Bible are new to me. I’m not in any way saying that it’s wrong and I’m right, it’s just definately been a new way for me to consider things. I very much appreciate the challenge the Awakening brought me to be open to the idea that I don’t know everything. The Pharisees thought they new it all and they did know the Word, but they didn’t have a relationship with God and that’s where they went wrong. That is the key, to really truly pursue a relationship with The One. May prayer has always been to believe and pursue God’s Truth! If that is the Word, letter for letter than that is what I want to live. If there are interpretations that I haven’t grown up with, such as some of AIM’s views, then I want to believe and live my life for that. I know God will reveal his truth for me in time. I just need to keep praying for patience till that time comes. I also that the Awakening did cultivate the Spirit of God and the Holy Spirit was definately present!
During debrief, we found out who our new teams would be. Casey and I were parted from all the Cheetahs and put on a new team. So my prayers and Love goes out to Chad and the new team he is now leading, as well as the team that now has Kyle, Sarah and Heather! Casey and I love you all and can’t wait to see you again in Uganda! Our new team is called Freedom’s Fire, our team leader is Garret McNeil with Rachel Ratz, Brittany Jackson, Rebekah King and Anmari Rivera. We are so excited to to be a part of this new family and to see where God will take this team! Please pray for us that we will have the boldness to carry the Kingdom throughout all of Africa and beyond!
