As I begin this amazing journey of Fundraising, I am learning that there is much more to it than I thought. Not in the paperwork sense, although that is also true. I am speaking more in the difference of direction it is taking my heart, mind, and of course my relationship with Jesus.
You see the fundraising is daunting, especially as my First Goal is coming up on January 8th. However what this is allowing me to do, is to put all I have, really, truly and wholly in the hands of God. You see this last week I learned a number of lessons of which I would Like to share with you (in part 2 of this post) however they all come back to this one point though. If you give God your everything(and I mean everything). If you give him your heart, soul, finances, family, friendships, time, social life, work life, future, hopes, ambitions, Thoughts, dreams, talents, skills and abilities(really everything). If you truly go all in then you have freedom.
Freedom from the toxicity of consumerism, Freedom from the enemy, freedom from selfishness, freedom from boredom, freedom from aimless routine, freedom from the mundane, freedom from rejection, freedom from fear, freedom from loneliness, freedom from addiction, freedom from laziness, freedom from condemnation, freedom from complacency, freedom from pride, and self boasting. I understand that is a lot of freedom, and a very bold statement to make. I do not mean it lightly either (Hence part 1/2). See this is part of the very message I hope to bring to the nations.
Jesus came to bring freedom, and to offer it to all of those who would believe, believe in Jesus. To believe that the God of the universe is both loving enough, and powerful enough to save us from the enemy, and to save us from ourselves. To save us from endless routine, the selfish behaviors, the control issues of society, pride, complacency, loneliness, addiction, and replace it with salvation, freedom, a radical love that can only come from the father.
But I will hold the sermon/rant off for another post. The point is, that in the last few weeks I have experienced a whole new kind of freedom, a whole new kind of life( To be explained in part 2). All it took, was acting upon my words of “Lord have it all”. Then the craziest thing happened, when I did it. I received freedom from it all. I received, the world race. Which would require that God have it all. Because only by his will, I will fund raise $17, 561 U.S. (Starting with $5000 by January 8th). Only by his will, I will sell my newly purchased $14,000 vehicle. In doing so I will also receive freedom from these things. As well I will be able to bless people with what I have. Because it all must go. So now I have even more opportunity. All because God has it all.
There is only victory in obedience to God. Where there is his victory, there is freedom. This can be seen in the bible on multiple occasions in fact. If you don’t believe me, then just read it. Where? THE BIBLE, pretty much every book of it. You see in the bible the enemy, or our silly own selfish desires cause bondage in one way or another, but read on. The Gospel is GOOD news my friend. To conclude Part 1. This is so much more than Fundraising, This is a change of mindset, and heart. It is a time of Preparedness, growth, faith, community, trust, and true Identity. In the end, this is the beginning. The beginning of a whole new, yet authentic me. The beginning of the creation God has made me to be. This is the new Life.
