This past week was training camp at Toccoa Falls College in Georgia.  This was the first time that we, K Squad, met each other in person, and there was not a stranger among us!  When God brings His people together it does not matter what their backgrounds are, where they are from, or even what they like to do; what matters is God.  As we experienced this week together God pulled us closer to himself and each other. It was Christ. It was community. It was the Church.

We shared without anxiety, opened up to one another with out fear, and worshiped our living God without chains.  All of us were able to share life stories and struggles to each other and there was no fear of judgment; just love. There was no need to pretend to be someone else to make people like us; just love.  Not one held back worshiping the Creator; just love.  This is no ordinary love however, its not even primary, its secondary in response to Christ's love for us!
"We love because he first loved us." 1 John 4:19 (esv)

Training camp also taught me to be prepared to be unprepared and expect the unexpected.  In it all it forced me to trust in myself less and in God more.  This brings me to after camp and the next month before I leave.

I went into camp having $10,000 raised.  I got home and had $10,500 raised.  I still need $5,000 for the whole trip. To raise the rest of this my mother and some of my other great friends are helping me letting me help them put on a fundraiser event.  It is Saturday July 28 at the field by the activity center in front of Bentwater.

Since I first got accepted to The World Race, the funding has not been an issue.  I have hit every check point a month, sometimes two, ahead of schedule.  This has encouraged and strengthened my faith.  I know God has a plan that can only be described as God sized, and I am so blessed to be on the beautiful ride.
