This past month in Malaysia has been amazing. I have been blessed to have this amazing team and great contact. This month our ministry was with Tamil people. They are basically a South Indian group that have immigrated to Malaysia.
There are hundreds of thousands of Tamil families that live in Malaysia. They are very kind hearted and gracious hosts. Every house visitation we made, which averaged 10 houses a week, we were greeted with a drink and a snack. The drinks varied between three, Milo (hot chocolate), Chai Tea with milk, and soda. Depending on how hot the beverage was, that was their way of saying they wanted you to stay and talk or get out; the hotter the drink the longer the stay.
Tamil families also go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and have a seat, whether it’s a chair or stool, they put you up and they themselves sit on the ground. And the snacks they gave were delicious and different from house to house. Some visits we received homemade treats and others fresh picked fruit from their backyard.
They were also very open to us sharing the Gospel with them. That was exciting and new because we thought most Malaysians were Muslim. We had prepared to be sneaky and share by actions more than words. We had to use barely any filter when talking with Tamil families. Though most of them didn’t speak English, we had translators. Our main translator was Pastor Yesudason who was also our host. The second was actually one of our team members, Samson Tharakan, who is Indian and lived in India up until he moved to the US about 4 years ago. It has been a blessing to have both translators and to see God, in His divine plan, place our team here specifically ministering to Tamil, and use Samson for His glory!
In their acceptance of us and Christ though, we found that they accept all gods as the same 🙁 They are hurting people that have no hope. A people that fulfill nothing in this life or the next, that pray at altars to statues and pictures; this is the Tamil. 150,000 families, lets say husband wife and child, though every place we went they had 2+ kids, triples the number to 450,000 people led astray by false idols, lies, deceit, and pagan rituals. This means 450,000 souls from this one small modern 3rd world country are not going to be in Heaven because they are fooled by these bluffs of Satan.
They have been practicing so long what their parents taught them and what their grandparents taught their parents that they are lost in traditions. They see no difference in any god because there are hundreds of thousands to them and Jesus Christ is just a +1 to that number. And they dont understand our thought process just as we dont understand theirs. That is why this ministry that Pastor Yesudason has started is long since due.
Being an Indian himself he knows the customs and traditions and mindset of these people and he has made it his life purpose to care for them and to shine the Light of Christ into their homes. This man has dreamed dreams and prayed prayers we as Americans could only fantasize about after we hear stories of what God has done Old Testament, New Testament, and even up to present. Well I say it shouldnt be that way and it doesnt have to be that way. By the grace of God we can PRAY.
Right now!
