Month 11  | Ukraine
My team & I spent the first week partnering with an incredible organization, Eastern European Missions Network, to help with an English Bible Camp they were running in a village about an hour outside the city we are currently living in.
EEMN is run by an amazing family from New Mexico who welcomed us with open arms and made us feel right at home. One of the biggest surprises – we were serving with a short term American team!
My job for the week: SPORTS!
Football (soccer), volleyball, jump rope, 4 square, and capture the flag!!!
I got to run the sports section of camp which was fun and crazy challenging all at the same time!  60  7 year olds who don’t speak a word of English?  score!
These Ukrainian kids had game!  They’d all come out to the football field, kick their shoes off, and would play barefoot! And they played hard.

Pastor Alexander is an inspiring man who hosted us and the short term team at his church. With the beautiful summer weather we decided to bust out our tents we’ve been carrying around all year! You know you’re a Racer when you’re excited about tenting because it means having your own “bedroom.” haha

Our time at the camp was incredible:
The translators were teenagers from all over Ukraine who were a blast to hang out with.  The other American team was made up of people all different ages & backgrounds and from all over the U.S. The food was amazing, there were hot showers and a washing machine, AND the country setting made for some beautiful distance runs.
