Month 2: Cambodia Quick update on life: We finished our ministry in the Philippines, flew back to Manila (in the Philippines) to be as a squad for a few days then flew to Cambodia (with a layover in the Singapore Airport which is pretty sweet if you ever find yourself there). My team & I are now in Phenom Phen, Cambodia working with a church for the month. Our contacts are amazing and ministry has been a ton of fun so far. In the mornings we help around the Church (painting, cleaning…) and in the afternoons we teach English classes. Talking with some of the students in English class about God and religion suggests that lack of education is the root of much deception. For example, last night one student told me that Christianity & Buddism is the same. I said to the student, ‘in America, Christianity and Buddhism is viewed as two different religions. Can you tell me why in Cambodia it is viewed as the same religion?’ His response: ‘because they both teach the same thing: to love each other.’ This student, and many others that I was speaking with, said ‘I don’t know about God’ but seem interested in learning more. There are many open doors here and Cambodia is a beautiful country. Stay tuned for more blogs (and pictures!) coming soon Love from Phenom Phen, Theresa
