Happy May everyone! Who else is so ready and excited for summer? I can’t wait!

April was such a busy and exciting month for me so here’s a little overview :

April –

  • I turned 18! It was an awesome birthday. I got to spend the morning with my great grandmother, have dinner at one of my favorite restaurants (where they stuck a candle in an orange since they didn’t have any other vegan dessert haha), and then I saw Allegiant with some of my favorite people (We were the only ones in the theatre and I fell asleep during the movie, opps). Ohh, I also got my noise pierced because you have to do something “rebellious” when you turn 18 right???

  • I finished school!!!!!! I had my last class on Wednesday and turned in my last exam Saturday. I took my last exam while waiting for the doors to open at prom if that just tells you how ready I was to be done with school. Prom was great as well! We had so much fun and it was a fantastic way to end the school year. I’ll graduate May 15th and be officially done with school forever. Welllll, until college at least.

  • Speaking of college…. I went and toured BGU, which was amazing. We got to stay on campus for three days, see what it was like to live there, meet some super awesome people, learn about different cultures, learn more about the school and their mission, and it was just all around great and really confirmed where I’m supposed to be once I get back. While I don’t want my World Race to fly by, I am really excited about going to Bethany when I come home.

  • At the preview weekend I got to meet some of my lovely squad mates, and let me tell you, there was so much craziness and laughter going on people probably thought we were crazy. We all just clicked so well like we had known each other forever. We only spent three days together, but I have enough memories to last a lifetime. I miss them so so so much, ahh! Also, Before and after the preview weekend I stayed with Katie Jo and her family, and they were the greatest people ever to stay with. Dear Alamo family, thank you so much for letting me stay with you, making me feel like family, showing me around town, taking me to Mall of America, and cooking some really great vegan food. Y’all are the best!

  • 18 Going On 80 fundraiser – It went very well! People donated enough for 48 balloons! Which is so crazy to me, because I was not expecting that much at all. A big big thank you to everyone who donated! I can’t say thank you enough to the people who believe in and support me and this crazy calling to go on the World Race. I hope you know I appreciate it very much!

In Other News!

  • If you don’t already know, I have switched routes! I will no longer be going to Thailand, Guatemala, and Malawi. I will now be serving in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Ethiopia, Nepal, and the Philippines! If you would like to know more about my route please ask!

  • This new route means that I have new financial deadlines :
    • June 17th, 2016 – $5,000 goal met
    • August 19th, 2016 – $10,000 goal met
    • December 31st, 2016 – $14,806 goal met (fully funded)

My first deadline is coming up soon and I still have a ways to go, so please parter with me, ask questions, pray, encourage, and any amount you can give helps. Seriously, $1 adds up. I know we can do this.
