“I will betroth you to me forever;I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion. I will betroth you in faithfulness, and you will acknowledge the Lord” (Hos. 2)

Walking down the street was an experience because these people have never seen Europeans.  We were the talk of the town and never have we seen people stare the way they do.   It is here where the magic happened! With our smiles their masks came off and they reacted with a smile filled with joy and fascination. This was the way we communicated and shared Jesus love. These people do not speak Chinese, they speak in a different dialect. Therefore it was difficult to build relationships because of our language barrier, but as the people watched us each day they dared to react with a smile, and their hearts changed.

God called us to pray and intercede for this village. Through prayer and fasting we had to lay down our own lives and by humbeling ourselves before God he  shared us His heart.  We were totally dependent on Him, waiting and seeking His face. God answered our prayers and gave us  promises from his word and encouraged us with scripture.

We had another surprize……….

We went back to that remote village to give them gifts. On our arrival we were invited by another family who’s house is situated higher up on the hill.  We were blessed with a wonderful meal and we were treated like kings.  God provided yet again and we had another oppertunity to pray for this family.

Like children we believed and God gave us hope, His  light is shining through the dark cloud that was hanging over this town.
Our prayer is that the iron masks that these people wear will be removed, by His grace and that they will be crowned with heavenly crowns.
