GO!           The race begins!

Our race from Trang to Phuket was filled with some interesting challenges… Desyphering the clue given to us, we had to climb a total of 3000 steps in our team up to a Bhuddist temple. Clara and Francois climbed right up to the top with 1 237 steps each while we divided the remaining steps between the rest of us. We also had to get information on Bhudda’s teaching on Jesus, asking monks, locals and even tourists (who greeted us with suspicious and confused looks…).

Other clues took us to some local markets where we bought a “loud frog” , a wooden frog making froglike noises, “the offspring of a football” , a ball made with reeds or twigs,  a t-shirt of Thailand and a local fruit called a Durian.

Munch, munch, squish and crunch! Yet another challenge was to compare the taste and texture of silkworms and locusts. All six team members ate this Thai delicacy, even describing the taste of locusts as similar to BBQ Pringles Potato Chips… Crazy people…

Another clue took us to Siam Safari where we rode on Asian Elephants and watched them do tricks! That was so cool!!

Between these challenges, while riding on buses and waiting for lifts, we had to find Bible verses confirming all 101 ways of worship. We also translated a Bible verse in Thai.

Our race ended with Clara swimming out into the sea, retrieving a Malaysian flag, good work girl!!!

Even though we came fifth (which is quite good if you think of the amount of people in the world being a few billion…), we really enjoyed it all a lot!

Go, Ama-Jikalezas, go!!!
