We are in Guatemala!!! From the border we took various Chicken Buses on the winding road to San Pedro. This is what a chicken bus looks like:

Everyone is packed into the bus like sardines, then some more people is also packed in. After that they pack in some more people yet again. The road to San Pedro is through the mountains, on a very narrow and winding path. Regardless of that, the chicken buses still speed like chickens running for their lives from a pack of vicious foxes. There must be a line of angels on the side of the road, pushing the buses upright at the corners, for we arrived safely at San Pedro!

On the bus we met a Guatemalan guy who offered us a place to camp tonight at no cost to us! Two ladies, Bernadette and Michelle, also helped us dearly by translating and making sure that all our needs are cared for. We praise God for sending such wonderful people on our way!

Tomorrow morning we will climb the volcano at San Pedro, finishing the second leg of the race. Please pray for our safety and strength!
