JESUS CAME THROUGH

One week after our previous update such a lot have happend. Lets just summarize it quickly:  JESUS CAME THROUGH FOR US!!

Last Friday we went to San Pablo. A local school needed a toilet and also some things for the playground. We got us excellent help in the form of Heugh-our American friend. He is a wizz with a hammer!! We enclosed the toilet in no time and just as quick got a roof and a door fixed onto the structure. While working on that the ladies played with the kids, showing them God´s love for them.
It didn´t take long to also make three swings and the reward came in the smiles and laughs we experienced once the kids got to their new playground.
God truly blessed us through the thankfulness and joy we saw.

Saturday came, and as the sun came up over the lake, so also our tummies awoke to not such joyful tunes. All of us, asccept Jacques had a bad version
of a stomach bug. Fortunately we were able to help each other over the course of the weekend and Jacques really had his hands full with us three! Thanks Jakkie!!
Anita got it a bit worse than the rest of us and had to be taken to hospital on Monday morning… By grace alone she has been released from hospital and is now strengthining back in Panajachel. Lana had to give her an enjection Monday morning and also spent the night next to Anita on her hospital bed. They had – or Lana and a praying Anita-  the chance to minister to some of the ladies in the ward and it was a big eye-opener for both of them experiencing the lack of fascilities and medical care avalable to the locals! Thanks for all your prayers during the past few days.

While Lana and Ainta spent some time in hospital, Stefan and Jacques went over to Panjebar to help a school in the mountains. We gratefully again had the help of Heugh. Without him we might still have been on that mountain trying to build something! We had an early strart and a very ambitious plan. We would build the BIGGEST JUNGLE GYM ever…
 Maybe  in this region…

Fortunately we had the help of a  local, Gregorios… with his mashetti he carved faster than we could chisel or saw. It also looked much better!! Again in record time we finished and it was a definately a God-inspired effort, for so much could have gone wrong. Just finding the school up in the mountains was a challenge!! We again thank Michell and Ellen for supporting us and the financial backing received from their organization!! Its definately worth it!!

Seeing that yesterday was Valentine… Jacques just wanted to get back to Lana on the opposite side of the lake. We raced  back to San Pedro, packed our bags and thanked Hergon for all he did for us the past few days. BIG was our
dissapointment when we got to the docks and found that the last boat left at five. We ended up pitching our tent on a hotel roof and Jacques sleeping one more night without his beloved wife…

Fortunately we are now in Panajachel and we are all alive and well and able to witness of Gods great love and care for us!! This has been an amazing week and looking back we know a lot of people have been touched by Gods love… and it wasn´t intentional or planned ministry.  It was just living the life God chose for us!! To Him all the honour and glory!!

Our prayer needs for the coming week:

– Health of our team members
