Why are the gift and the power of the Holy Spirit so hard to accept? Well to put it plainly, its weird, uncomfortable, its goes against your rational mind, and it takes a tremendous amount of trust.
I often find myself questioning the power of the Holy Spirit because of these reasons. More reasons why we are hesitant to practice these things is because of what people may think, the stigma of what we may have seen in the pat like “crazy preachers”, or one my biggest reasons for my doubt is for the fear that God will not “come through”; that he will let me down, that the person I speak words of prophesy over make no sense to them, or the individual that I pray for healing, isn’t healed. What happens then?
Well I don’t know, because I don’t know God’s plan. But what I do know is that God’s plan is way better than ours, and we cant allow what we consider failures to hinder us from speaking truth and praying over others. If we allow things like that to affect who we pray for or lose confidence in the power of the Holy Spirit, then we will begin to miss out on opportunities to do just that.
If I can encourage you in any way, I would love for you know that healing through prayer works. I have seen it 1st hand and it is pretty amazing. I have seen strangers healed as well as friends healing friends from extreme sickness. It is an amazing gift that God has entrusted his people with, so I encourage you to lean into it a little and hear what God is trying to say to you.
I am so thankful that my experiences, and the experiences of my friends have only encouraged them more to listen to what the Holy Spirit is saying and following through with what it says. I am glad that what most people would consider failures did not stop them from pressing in more and praying for more people. I think of the people who may have not been healed if we stopped praying because of a couple of “let downs”.
