Are You Ready to Live?

So many people say things like “I would die for you” or “I would die for God” which is a really good thing. To be at a point where you would be able to say that you would be willing to die for Christ is a really good thing. That means that you are confident enough in your faith in Jesus that if it came down to it. You would lay down your life for the sake of the gospel.
Many people, honorable people, people who have made it into history books died for the sake of Jesus. Most of the disciples were killed and tortured for the gospel. Stephen was the 1st missionary to die for Jesus, he was stoned to death. I really believe that if you are able to say that you are willing to die for Jesus and you mean it, you are probably in a great place in your walk with Jesus.
Just like a parent would be willing to take a bullet for their child or a brother be willing to trade his own life for his sister, if you are willing to die for Christ that means that there is an authentic love that you believe in completely. Why would you die for something that you didn’t believe in?

Now there is another side of the coin that I would like to talk about. The other side is living. Yes you are willing to die for Christ, but are you willing to live for him also? Are you willing to live every single day for the God that you serve?
From the way that I look at it, I feel it is easier to die for Christ than it is to live for him. When we die for Jesus, our lives are over, we go to heaven, and our name is more likely to echo through history for some sort of time. But to live everyday for Jesus can be much harder and the persecution can last much longer. Scripture tells us that Christians are guaranteed to go through different sorts of persecution and that we would suffer for the Lord.
But there is a payoff, and that is the simple fact we are living a life with Jesus. Though we may be persecuted and ridiculed in different parts of our walks with the Lord, there is much to gain in being in a relationship with Jesus.
So this question is for those who believe in Jesus and are reading this. Are you willing to live every single day of your life for Christ? If you are, I commend you and admire your diligence. But if you are not willing to live for Christ every singe day then ask yourself why you aren’t. What is holding you back?

If you were wondering what kind of payoffs there are to living for Jesus every day, feel free to ask and I would love to share that with you.
