Today is August 25th and in 11 days I am leaving for an 11-month adventure that is going to be difficult, uncomfortable, stressful, challenging, and life changing. I am expecting for God to do big things and I can’t wait to see what he going to reveal to me
For me, this journey has been 3 years in the making. My friend Callie asked me if I have ever heard about the world race, and I asked, “you mean the amazing race?” She laughed and then told me all about what the World Race. Callie said she wanted to do it and that I should check it out. A couple days later I decided to check it out. I watched a few promo videos and read a couple of blogs and I was instantly hooked and interested.
Then I realized, being 19 that I had to be at least 21 to go and I had three years of college left. So I began to pray about going when I graduated college and I could tell that the Lord was calling me to go. I totally agreed with God on this and made an application as well as requested some information about the World Race. A few weeks later I received a folder in the mail with all of this information. As I read through it I continued to get more and more excited about going. The folder sat on my desk for 3 years, reminding me daily of what God was calling me to.
As I entered my senior year of college, I realized that I would be finished with school in July. This meant that I would finally be able to sign up for the World Race and begin to get closer and closer to that. I filled out an application and picked a route. The application takes about 2 weeks, and it was the longest two weeks of my life. I finally got the call that they would love to have me and I began punching the air like I won the super bowl.
This whole application began between November and December of 2011, and now I am 11 days away from what I have had in the making for 3 years and what God has had planned since before I was born.
I am so excited to finally go, and I can only imagine how excited God is as well,
