The Brown Team aka Team Earth—-Laura, Jessica F., Hugh, Paul, Kim K., and Kristin!

Well, we’ve made it to

Mexico and all is well. All appendages are still attached and the bathrooms are working fantastically, even though we can’t flush the paper! We are currently at Castillo del Rey in

Matamoras,
Mexico, where we are living in a concrete building and sleeping on bunk beds. We awoke to the sounds of roosters early this morning. We are surrounded by dirt, dogs, goats, chickens, and many many people. This morning we had cereal, bagels, yogurt, and COFFEE!!! After breakfast we had a sweet time of worship with music by Bob (base director for AIM) and a time to share what the Lord placed on our hearts. A main theme this morning seemed to be “the flood.” Some people happened to read about Noah and the flood, and others shared about God opening the floodgates to the nations. We are now working out details on how to travel from here to

Guatemala. This could entail traveling by van, bus, train, motorcycle, or hitchhiking. Along with figuring out these details, we are also preparing for church planting and how that looks among this culture.

Prayer Requests: building relationships with each other; transportation; church planting; absorption of information; communion with God; health and safety; $$$

PEACE OUT!!!
