the last time we left all of you, we were still in the mexico city airport…wow…that was a long time ago. sorry for the delayed update. so…here it is…
we did not beat the red team or the blue team. the blue team actually ended up getting on the same flight as us and when we got to LA it became a foot race. well, actually it could have been, but laura’s bag did not come so that caused us a delay and the fact that paul got stuck in customs for 45 minutes. so…the blue team beat us to the pier, but we were okay with it. we were all too tired to care at that point.
while in LA alot went on. friske mom and sister came to see laura and friske. i was able to hang out with them for a couple of days and that was fun. jessica s mom and sister and little niece came to see her and i hung out with them as well. pauls family came to see him for a couple of days. so it was good time to see family and get rejuvinated.
the oscars were in town, so we got to go see where they were going to be and see it all getting set up. jessica and i actually saw some “stars”. we went to venice beach and hung out and saw where we know alot of movies are shot, so that was pretty neat. friske and laura went to wheel of fortune, paul went to dr phil, and jessica and i went to jay leno.
yes…we all got to play a good bit in LA, but the last 2 days were full of prep for china.
serena, gary black, and mary beth came to pour into us for 2 days and get us all set and ready to go on our next big leg of our race. it was a much needed time with them and i think we were all very refreshed and encourage by their support and words that they had for us.
they handed out some awards to the different teams and our team got the fast food ministry award for always ministering to people and taking them to eat fast food. hahaha
wednesday morning we boarded a plane and set off for hong kong. after a 15.5 hour flight…here we are. we got in late thursday night (HK time) and had to get up early friday morning to go and get our visas. that was a breeze. thank goodness.
today, we are all free to go hangout and see the city and prepare for our 50 hour travel that starts in the morning as we headed to our destination.
