Hi from Panajachel, Guatemala.  Team Trinity is very thankful that God has paired us up with the Yellow team from South Africa.  We have a lot of work to accomplish in a months time.  When we arrived in Panajachel we met a woman named Sharon who runs a non-profit organization called Poco Poco.  Her organization has been working with families whose homes were destroyed by Hurricane Stan.  They only have so much man power and are really grateful that our two teams have come to assist.  The guys (Chad, Lloyd, Miguel, and Anthony…Yellow team) started building a house the second day we were here.  The girls went house to house to meet the families in need and compile a list of what we could assist with in the next month.  The list is very long…so we are asking YOU for help.  Below you will be introduced to a few families, but also check out the Yellow Teams blog.  We are in need of prayer and financial assistance.  If you feel led to assist our teams and change the lives of the families of Panajachel, Guatemala please mail checks to…

The older woman in this picture has just recently been diagnosed with Tuberculosis.  Her children and grandchildren live with her now because their house was destroyed by the hurricane.  She does not have beds so the children sleep on cardboard boxes.  When we visited around 2 in the afternoon, they had all split a torilla and that is all they had to eat for the day.

This family is in need of beds, clothes, food, and medicine!!!

This house no longer has a bathroom.  The family of 6 who live here have to go to the bathroom in plastic bags and at night they throw their waste in the lake.  They have no electricity either.

This family is in need of a bathroom and electricity.

The older lady in this picture and her husband are both in their late 70s.  Ever since the hurricane, they have had their entire family living with them.  The family makes tortillas for a living..their only source of income, but do not have a sink to wash up.  The older couple has a bed frame that they sleep on, but it has recently broke so they are now sleeping on the floor along with the rest of their family.  The older man suffers from severe headaches because he is in need of glasses!

This family is in need of a sink, beds, food, clothes, glasses, and medicine.

This is Theresa.  She lives in this house alone and has been collecting rocks ever since the hurricane to make a kitchen, bathroom, and to secure her roof.  She is very nervous everytime the wind blows because her roof lifts off her house.

She is in need of a bathroom, kitchen, and a new roof.

The litle girl in the wheelchair is 10 years old and has just recently been given this wheelchair.  She is a very smart girl, but is unable to go to school because her house is on top of a rocky hill and their is no ramp for her wheelchair.  Even though the family is in need of so much all they want is  a ramp so she can get out of the house.

This family needs a wheelchair ramp.

This is the house that the guys built.  The woman in this picture will live here when it is finished.  Because the hurricane washed away an entire village, there are many houses that need to be built.  We have the man power to build a few while we are here.  This house only took 4 days!!!

We are in need of building supplies.

Please be in constant prayer for us as we work and for the families here.  We wish that each of you could be here to help us… there is so much to be done.  Please know that any financial help will enable us to change the lives of the people here.  Thank you and God Bless You!!!!
