God continues to bless us with His provision.
Nate really felt we should do some type of ministry in the town square before we leave Chincha…So we called around to see if we could find a projector and a screen. God provided, through Bob Cooley’s son-in-law in Lima. The main square was not possible because of all the red tape with the Mayor’s office and the short time frame. Yet God provided for the Plaza de Mayor, just a few minutes from camp. It was Scheduled We would show the Passion of teh Christ in the town square tonite at 7:00.
Nate, Michelle, Deana and I had flyers copied and passed out over 200 to people on the street and in businesses. Hung about 70 in local markets and on the streets.
While we were busy doing our thing; we passed a naked man sitting on the side walk. being the children of God that we are we walked around him.
I even made a comment to Michelle about why didn’t she give one to him. We both kinda laughed and kept walking. the longer I walked the more certain I became that we had just passed up a ministry opportunity. Who on the street needed God more than the man with nothing. What was his story? Where did he come from? We finished disbursing the flyers and walked to the area we’d started from. As I got closer to the area where the man was sitting I began to look for him, not sure what I would do if I found him there. But alas he was gone and so was the opportunity.
The book of James talks of favoritism and how we will be judged for it. Lord, forgive me for being slow to see with your eyes and slow to act from your heart. Please continue to make me more like you.
