My dear friend Cheryl and I drove to
Wheeling,
WV (about 4 hr drive) to visit the local Cabela store, where we purchased backpack, shoes, sleeping bag and a few other camping/hiking essentials. The sales clerk, Patty was a jewel. Patty knew what we were looking for, made suggestions; showed us all our options and nudged us in the right direction.
I tried on backpacks, Patty adjusted them to fit me. I walked up and down the stairs and around the show room with the pack on my back. Patty told us what to ask for in the shoe dept. She became very excited when I explained the trip and what I would be doing for the next year. I wrote the web address on a card and gave it to her. Her son is a cub scout and she vowed they would follow my trip. In a small but important way Patty became a World Racer that day.
Whether we realize it or not
God has a role for all of us in this race, some thru financial support, some through prayer, some through the organization and volunteering for fundraisers and mailings, still others through daily workings and encouragement.
