Toward the end of our stay, four of the people on my team
felt led to another town in L-a-o-s. The following is an account of how God
decided to show us that when we obey Him, He will bless us.

Setting: The night before we needed to leave to get back to
the rest of our group.

Transportation options:

  1. VIP
bus with A/C and a bathroom. 9 hour bus ride leaving 3 different times in
    the morning.
  2. Mini-van
only going halfway home but comfortable. We would have to get another
mini-van when we got there to get the rest of the way home.
  3. Overnight
local bus. No A/C, no bathroom, stops every hour and is 12 hours.

We could not take the VIP bus the next day because we felt
God telling us to go to a home group we had heard about the next morning.  The four of us could not agree upon the
other 2 options so we began asking God what He wanted us to do. Still we could
not agree. So we went to find out how much the options were and what other
people recommended. We finally figured out how much money to get out of the ATM
for either option and I was headed to get that.

No money. That’s right, for some reason the ATM (2 different
ones) would not allow me to get money out with my card. So we were a little
stuck. We had 527,000 k-ip’s on us. The overnight bus was our only option at
this point and would cost 500,000 k-ip. We heard that tickets at the bus
station were cheaper but it was not for sure and we would have to walk an hour
to get there or pay a tuk-tuk to get there.

We prayed again and felt like we were supposed to go to the
home group the next morning and see what God had planned for us. So we went, no
tickets in hand to get home that day.

God, yet again, showed up. Our plan that day was to somehow
get to the bus station, hopefully have enough money to get tickets and stay
there all day until the bus left. God’s plan was a bit different. At the home
group God decided to lead us to someone who would not only take us to the bus
station, but was willing to give us money if needed for the tickets. We ended
up having enough for the tickets and had about 60,000 k-ip (around 7 USD) left
over. Then this couple decided to buy us lunch, allowed us to hang out at their
house for the afternoon and gave us a mid afternoon snack. Then they took us
back to the bus station.

I am finding that I enjoy God’s plan so much more than my
own plan. He has every detail worked out and will bless us so much if we just
decide to walk in His plan.
