This past month teams Spectacle, Koinonia, Indelible and
Manna AKA S.K.I.M. squad were in Machanga Mozambique for 9 days. In other
words, we were in the bush of Africa. Here are a few things that World Racers
do while in the bush:

            –Long
bus rides, where you drive to your ‘destination’, get out of the van wait for

your contact to tell you that you
have driven 10km to far so you get back on the

van, pay to drive back 10km, get off
the van, get told that you must now drive another 50km to the river (which you
were told you could originally walk to) get back in the van and pay to drive
the next 50km, get out of the bus, walk to the river, get in a dug out tree,
cross the river, walk about 3km to be told to walk another 3km to the church
where you might stay for 2 nights!!

            –Learn
how to properly squat over a hole in the ground, or brave going in the

cornfield where there might be
snakes or old women who throw rocks at you.

            –Put
your tent up with 50+ kids staring at you.

            –Shower
in the river that goes up to the middle of your calf.

            –Preach
with 10 minutes notice.

            –Bake
bread in a Dutch oven over a fire.

            –Move
6 times in 1 month.

            –Stop
looking at your watch because nothing happens on time anyway.

            –Get
used to using 2 translators because it must first be translated from English to

Portuguese then from Portuguese to
a native language.

–Eat carbohydrates for breakfast,
lunch and dinner.

–Go to an African funeral when you
think your are going door to door

Evangelizing and then be asked to
give a message of comfort to the people attending the funeral!

–BE AMAZED AT HOW MUCH GOD SHOWS
OFF IN AFRICA!
